There's Always The First.... @ 7:14 PM
Our first trip was started this Friday. We, Ajeng, Fanie, Sinta, and I, went to the Birdcage restaurant. It's a small restaurant in Jl. Wijaya IX, a little bit hard to find, because it's located right behind SMPN 12 and there's no billboard or anything that signs a restaurant. We just quickly saw a large rattan or bamboo birdcage, hanging in front of the resto. We're like "THERE IS IT! THERE IS IT!"
And so we came in. The resto has a great interior. It's cozy and so comfortable for chitchat and brunch. At first we wanted to be seated on the second floor, but too bad there was some celebration and all tables are reserved. There are also outdoor area but according to the extreme hot weather, we chose to sit in a sofa with the view of the street. The wall is full of printed posters like you see in this photo.
This is one of the decoration. Actually, there's a sweet white rack that I really would like to capture but there are some people there. Too bad.
They don't have so much menu, but I don't think that's a problem, since I often confuse what to eat. We've decided to share the food. Only two main course and one dessert. The choices fell on Nachos Special Cage Pizza, Beef Stroganoff Pasta, and Peach Melba Pancake. FYI, the pancake is my only reason to go there since it was promoted by the Girlfriend Magazine xD. Oh don't forget to ask the dessert to be served after the main course. I think the server thought each of us ordered the food so he served everything at one time. We have to eat the pancake first or the ice cream would melt. For the drinks, each of us ordered what we want.
My drink, Lemongrass tea. Quite sweet, but okay. It tasted fresh and cool. Adding lemon would help :).
Standard Diet Coke for Fanie
Vanilla tea. Very sweet and calming, just like Sinta who ordered it. hehe
Ajeng's Yoghurt Candy
Nachos Pizza. It needs more cheese! Too much tomato for me, but I think Italian will like it :)
Beef Stroganoff. Nice portion. You won't feel 'eneg' hehe. The beef cooked just perfect!
Peach Melba Pancake. I love this pancake more than Pancious' Blueberry Cheese. The pancakes are so fluffy and soft. Perfect to wash your mouth :9
I've mentioned that Birdcage has a very nice decoration. In addition, the wall is full of some retro and vintage framed posters. You can see some of them in these pictures. Cool, eh?
Oh, and something really embarassing happened just after we finished eating. We decided to sit and have a nice chitchat. Randomly I saw the girl sat beside us, and I said to Fanie. "Cewe sebelahnya Ajeng cantik." Ajeng said, "Kenceng loh, Nya." I've just realized that my voice turns out louder than I wanted it to be. The girl was blushing. She became very pink just like her pink blazer and the guy, who was with her, was looking at me like, "seriously?" I was like gali tanah 100 meter and put me down there -_______________-.
Minutes after the awkward moment, we decided to went home. Last thing to do, off course, taking photos in front of the resto!

Anyway, it was a very nice afternoon. You know sometimes you need some sweet escapes from daily routine, tests, or homeworks, and this place are just great. Though I don't mind to visit Birdcage again, we still have seven places to go on the list. Really wish to visit them immediately. <3
